Friedrich Nagel founds the company in Stuttgart – with a clear mission: to rethink precision.
1944
Relocation to Nürtingen. Despite difficult times, the courage to break new ground emerges – and the company grows.
1950
Construction of the company’s first own production hall. The start of production of horizontal honing machines marks the beginning of a new era.
1953
The portfolio grows: vertical honing machines are added to the range. Innovation becomes a trademark.

Foundation of the sister company Elgan-Diamantwerkzeuge– a milestone towards technological excellence.

The takeover of the English company Permat provides impetus for European expansion.

Stone finishing machines, contacts with the roller bearing industry and major orders for assembly lines open up new markets – Nagel consolidates its role as a technology leader.

With the construction of a plant in São Paulo, Nagel finally becomes a global partner for precision, efficiency and innovation.

Nagel enters the US market with the opening of a sales office in New York – direct, committed and customer-oriented.

The construction of the company’s own factory in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and the relocation of the sales office strengthen the company’s presence in North America in the long term.
