NAGEL abrasives – no compromise in relation to machining quality, cutting performance and tool life quantity

The abrasive is an important component for a successful honing or finishing process. The NAGEL company develops individual abrasives together with our company group partner ELGAN for all customer-specific requirements.

The strong increase in cost pressure demands high tool life quantities together with reduced cycle times - and this despite high requirements with regard to geometry and surface finish. In order to meet these requirements, in recent years NAGEL has developed completely new abrasive qualities.

Important here: it is extremely difficult to achieve the results required today using run of the mill qualities. NAGEL abrasives are exclusively developed in-house, specifically matched to customer requirements and the highest precision of superfinishing.

The target of the developments is always to deliver the customer the best quality with regard to the required tolerances, tool life quantities and machining times.

NAGEL abrasives are based on the following system:

1. Optimised to the material

An appropriate bonding can be supplied for each material group to be machined which thanks to good self-sharpening and chip-repelling characteristics ensures excellent cutting behaviour.

2.  Defined graded bonding hardness

Here within a material group for each customer we realise the ideal balance between tool design, tool life quantity and cutting performance.

3.  Grains especially selected for superfinishing machining

The grading and selection of the diamond and CBN qualities is made according to a test procedure developed by us. As a result, time and cost-intensive honing tests can be reduced to a minimum.
